INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES WITH SDWP
This is your chance to get useful work experience in a dynamic environment at the San Diego Workforce Partnership.
The San Diego Workforce Partnership, Inc. (SDWP) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is a public/private partnership of the City and County of San Diego and business, education, labor, government and community leaders. Since 1974, the Workforce Partnership has invested more than one billion dollars, targeting education, job training and employment resources for San Diego residents.
We offer many programs and services throughout the region including labor market information, and select low or no cost services to local businesses, including onsite consultation to provide customized recruitment strategies, training assistance, and access to workforce development dollars. Through a network of six regional One-Stop Career Centers, and two youth centers, employers and job seekers can access employment information, resources and tools.
Internship Qualifications: typically most SDWP internship opportunities are open to undergraduate college student(s) preferably with junior or senior standing in a field of study/major close to the work experience desired with the SDWP.
Positions: If you are a good communicator, great with the intricacies of detail and accuracy and multiple project management---as well as being positive, proactive, responsible and resourceful—this is the place for you!
Duration: Typically 12 weeks (unless other arrangements are made in advance).
Time Commitment: Flexible schedules (days and hours); however, the level and nature of projects typically requires a 16 to 20 hours p/week time commitment.
Stipend and Academic Credit: We offer both paid (stipend) and unpaid internships. We will be more than happy to complete academic forms so eligible student interns can receive college credit. In addition, we can provide letters of recommendation, select training, and great networking opportunities, as well as an outstanding and dynamic work experience in a team environment with an incredible service-oriented organization.
