SAN DIEGO COUNTY INDUSTRY CLUSTER REPORT
In-depth studies of the workforce in growing local industry clusters.

New Path to Prosperity Career Series: Coinciding with the San Diego Workforce Partnership's release of its Path to Prosperity Revisited study, the Workforce Partnership has developed the Path to Prosperity Career Series, which provides details on San Diego's leading industries and their occupations.The series offers insights on San Diego-region industries and career pathways that lead to participation in the region's prosperity.

Life Sciences in San Diego County, 2006 is a study on the Life Sciences cluster in San Diego County that describes the industry, details its occupations and identifies local education programs for employment in life sciences companies. (28pages)

Biotechnology in the United States, 2006 is a national study of biotechnology that defines the industry, identifies biotechnology centers across the nation, and details the industry's occupations and educational programs. (198 pages)

San Diego's Healthcare Sector, 2006 is a significant component of the regional economy.  The Workforce Partnership's three healthcare publications (2006) provide information on the sector and its occupations, as well as recommendations on how to ensure that San Diego has the healthcare workforce it needs. Healthcare Jobs, a booklet for youth that describes the employment opportunities in the healthcare sector in the county; a healthcare poster that graphically displays a variety of career opportunities in several career ladders in the healthcare industry. San Diego's Hospitality Industry, 2006 is a large component of the regional economy.  The Workforce Partnership's three hospitality publications (2006) provide information on the industry and its occupations, as well as recommendations on how to ensure that San Diego has the hospitality workforce it needs. Hospitality brochures in Spanish and English that describe job opportunities and career paths in the hospitality industry in the region. Point CounterPoint: A Profile of San Diego's Temporary Staffing Industry, 2004. Examines the role of the temporary staffing industry in the region's labor market and provides detailed information on wages, benefits, and worker satisfaction. Full report (pdf, 60 pages);  Executive summary (pdf, 18 pages).

The San Diego Biotechnology Education Consortium Report on biotechnology programs at San Diego colleges and universities.  The report is a project of the San Diego Biotechnology Education Consortium (SDBEC) at the Southern California Biotechnology Center, Miramar College.
